New rules
Since 2026 you cannot hire a boat without a licence
- Since 1 October 2026, anyone hiring a boat in Spain, Menorca included, needs a boating qualification.
- Without one, only private use of motorboats up to 5 metres and 15 hp is allowed.
- No qualification? Hire with a skipper or get the short navigation licence.
